Sports and outdoors Nearby You'll find lots of options for outdoor recreation. Sipoonkorpi National Park is only a few kilometres away. At Kuusijärvi lake you can swim in summer and wintertime, and there are also crosscountry trails with lights. More trails are to found at Keinukallio in Kerava. There's also a nice walking route just below us by the river. Beutyful bicycle route along Kuninkaantie (King's Road) swings close by too. Talma village in Sipoo offers a variety of services such as downhill skiing, adventure park for kids and a golf course - all within a 20 min. drive from Jokivarsi. For golf enthusiasts there are greens also at Hiekkaharju (Vantaa), Tuusula and Porvoo.
Culture Friends of art and history will find interesting places to visit too; In Nikkilä, Sipoo, there are two beautyful churches; the old stone church and a "new" one from late 1800's. Further south the Gumbostrand art gallery-boutique-coffee shop is a lovely place to visit especially in summer time. Also the Tuusulanjärvi-area hosts many interesting museums. In Tikkurila look for the Old Train Station to find the Vantaa City Museum. Porvoo Old Town will make a great day-trip - or why not follow the historical King's Road even further.
Shopping and other little pleasures Koiramäen Pajutalli is wonderfull place near by, where you'll find all kinds of objects made of willow. There are also other beautyful house decoration things, a lovely coffee shop and even rabbits and pigs to amuse the little ones. Korson Aseman puoti is a little shop in an old Railway station house, filled with small handicraft accessories. The Bedmil in Sipoo offers interior designing as well as the materials. Almost next door is a cute little coffee shop Kaksi Verantaa. Last but not least - endulge yourself in Fazer visitor center.
