There are many options for outdoor activities nearby, both in summer and winter. Starting from a relaxing stroll along the Kerava river nearby, or jogging or skiing at Metsolansuo illuminated track, to a full day hike in Sipoonkorpi National Park. The easiest way to get to the routes is either from Kuusijärvi or from the Länsitie parking areas. Around Kuusijärvi there are lighted accessible routes, a barbecue shelter, a beach with smoke saunas and a cafe. A more exotic and peaceful smoke sauna experience is offered by Sipoonjoki heritage sauna in Hindsby village. Talma village in Sipoo offers a variety of services such as downhill skiing, adventure park for kids, frisbee golf course and separate Talma Golf - are about 15 minutes away by car. For golf enthusiasts there are greens also at Hiekkaharju (Vantaa), Tuusula and Porvoo, and indoor training is possible at Padel & Golf Plaza Tuusula. In addition, there are several different Fisbeegolf courses in the vicinity. The Mikkola and Simonmetsä courses in Vantaa are suitable for beginners and for testing the sport, the high-class and versatile Ford Discgolf park in Tuusula, a nice forest course in Talma, and those looking for real challenges can find them in Keinukallio in Kerava. You can borrow discs from Villa paying just a deposit.
The beautiful and popular Kuninkaanti cycling route from Turku to Kotka also passes close by, and there are other nice routes in the region for both road and mountain biking.
Culture
Friends of art and history will find interesting places to visit too; In Tikkurila, the charming Vantaa City Museum is hidden in the old station building, and in Hakunila the beautyful Håkansböle manor with its park. There are museum exhibitions and a cafe in the old buildings around the manor (which is currently under renovation). Laila Pullinen's sculpture park and home museum is located nearby in Sotungi. Tuusulan Rantatie with famous artists' houses and museums is also nearby - at least see Halosenniemi and Sibelius' Ainola. In Nikkilä, Sipoo, there are two beautyful churches; the old stone church and a "new" one from late 1800's. Further south the Gumbostrand art gallery-boutique-café is a charming place to visit, especially in summer time. A perfect destination for a day trip is the Old Town of Porvoo - or why not follow the historic Kings Road even further.
Restaurants
Within walking distance from Villa you will find a Burger King. More traditional dinner and varieties in menus you will find in restaurants Rodeo Steakhouse in Korso, or Sipoon Kellari and Sapori D'Italia in Nikkilä, Sipoo. A true fine dining lunch in beautyful scenery is served in Restaurant Tila in Sipoonkorpi National Park and fabulous dinner in Restaurant Vintero, Tikkurila. Please check the opening hours from the restaurants own websites. In addition, you can allways order a variety of dinners delivered to Villa Jokivarsi by Wolt, or a pizza from Nikinmäen Tähti nearby.
Shopping and other little pleasures
Koiramäen Pajutalli is just a bike ride away and it offers, in addition to skillfully made wicker works, wonderful interior products and wonderfull korvapuusti in the cafe. The youngest members of the family appreciate the farm's bunnies and minipigs. Those into fishing will want to visit the Ruoto megastore in the same neighbourhood. Furry friends will enjoy the dog pool and massage services also in the area. During the summer, there is a farm sale at the old Lehmusto farm garden, where you can probably get the world's best kombucha and other wonderful natural products. See also the excursions and courses organized by the farm's companies, Uoma Earthcare and Uoma Wild & Sour, and book a place with your accommodation! The garden store Vihervimma can be found right next to the Villa here in Jokivarsi - there you can also pick up a bouquet for any occasion. Sibbo Prylbod, located a few kilometers away in a rural landscape, sells vintage amd of course coffee and buns. In Korso though you will find Cafe Unelma, which serves the famous Korso cake among other delicasies. While in Korso, pay a visit to Korson Suutari, if you like unique hand made leather goods. Fashion enthusiasts obviously head to Helsinki Outlet Village, or to find special pieces in Arkisto Second Hand countryside shop. Last but not least - endulge yourself in Chocolate factory Fazer visitor center.
